This 1936 Ford Sedan Is A Full Metal Jacket Beauty

When it comes to Fords, you can’t move for Mustang restomods, or Model A rods. That’s why when I came across this 1936 Ford restomod, I almost wept. Whether it was from happiness or surprise, I’m not entirely sure, but this is one great piece of work. This all-steel sedan is a true beauty, and one which still features many original parts. The fenders, grill, hood, and trim have all been left as they were when this first hit the road 71 years ago. Don’t be fooled though, a lot of work has gone into this Ford. Take the door handles for example: they’re solely there for ornamentation, with the doors controlled by a remote access system.

A whole host of body work has been done too: the hood’s been louvered, the tail light stands shortened, bumpers rechromed, and new glass fitted, among many other changes. Another feature which irresistably draws the eye are the wheels, which are a 15″ artillery design by Rally America.

Under the hood, you’ll find a 350 horsepower LS1 V8 as found in a 2004 Pontiac GTO, and the transmission is a GM 4L60-E. The only part which bothers me about the build is that the rear brakes are drums, but that can’t detract from the rest of the magic.
