While the 1969 Camaro featured a new grille with a heavy “V” and deeply inset round headlights, it didn’t reinvent itself totally as it carried over the drivetrain and major mechanical components from the previous year. With a new rear valance panel, rear quarter panels and door skins, the ’69 Camaro rolled out looking much wider, lower, and more aggressive than ever before. Chevy wanted to make the car more competitive for SCCA Trans-Am racing so they provided an optional 4-wheel disc brakes with 4-piston calipers were offered under RPO JL8 for a mere $500.30 extra.

Also available for this fine 1969 muscle car was the Rally Sport (RS) option, which could be integrated to any other option like the SS or Z/28), making the model an RS/SS or a RS/Z28. Keep in mind that the Z28 option was also offered with the 302 cid small block which was mated to a Muncie 4-speed with a new standard Hurst shifter.Insane to say the least.

The 302 cid featured a bullet proof forged steel crankshaft, forged pistons, solid lifter camshaft, and Holley carburetion on a dual-plane intake manifold, all making this Camaro a classic in every sense of the word.
