1970 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda

Plymouth ditched the fastback shape when it redesigned the ‘Cuda for the 1970 offering. The Barracuda now consisted of a coupe and convertible body styles only and was constructed on a shorter and wider version of Chrysler’s “E”-body. Three versions were available for 1970 and 1971 including the base Barracuda, the Gran Coupe, and the sport model.

Engine options For the 1970-71 Barracuda were two 6-cylinder engines: A 3.2 liter variant of the slant-6, the 225, as well as three V8s: the 318ci, 383ci and the 383ci with 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust.There was a sweet 440/ Hemi-equipped muscle version that received an upgraded suspension system as well as structural reinforcements to aid in transferring power to the road.
