Fast N Furious 1970 Monte Carlo Hits the Auction Block

If you’re a fan of the Fast N Furious movie series, you will want to take a look at this completely authentic 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was featured in the (perhaps worst of the series) film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. If you haven’t seen it, our protagonist Sean Boswell gets into a street race with his (one of a few) love interest’s significant other – brilliantly played by Home Improvement‘s Zachery Ty Bryan. Check out the car chase scene:

Vehicle Effects, a custom shop out of Sun Valley California that builds all the cars for Fast N Furious, is looking to cash in on this one. The owner Dennis McCarthy has signed the hood, there’s a nice certificate of authenticity from Universal Studios (signed by Dennis McCarthy as Picture Car Coordinator on the film):

The certificate also reads “Since several identical copies of each vehicle are used in the filming there is no guarantee that any specific vehicle appears in an individual scene.” There’s also no mention of how many of these were used in the film on the auction, so we aren’t sure if this one actually appears in the film. This is commonly the case, as it was with the most recent Eleanor sighting.

Dennis is trying to juice the price on this Monte Carlo, being sure to mention all the recent movie car sales at auction including the Eleanor and Smokey and the Bandit cars. This might not be the best Fast N Furious movie, but this is a badass muscle car, no doubt. Check out how it sounds (ignore the Bon Jovi):
