Lancia Delta Integrale Restomod Unveiled At Grand Basel

Way back in May we talked about the Lancia Delta Integrale restomod that was being built by Eugenio Amos. The racer and collector’s company, Automobili Amos, has finally unveiled its restomod at the first Grand Basel car show. The performance specs haven’t been talked about yet, but we’ve finally got a look at the beast, called the Lancia Delta Integrale Futurista, and it is fantastic.

The Delta’s exterior has been hand-beaten from aluminum, while the front end is crafted from carbon fiber, which has also been used at the rear. Overall, 1000 different components have been reworked, with a weight saving of 198 lbs. The original transmission has not been scrapped, simply reinforced, while the differential has been rebuilt. The engine’s cooling has been improved too, with a new air intake and water-cooling set up. The final output is 330 horsepower. Not bad for a car that weighs just over a tonne.

The interior draws inspiration from one of the most famous Lancias ever to grace the roads, the Lancia Delta S4 Group B. This rally car competed in the World Rally Championships in 1985 and 1986, winning five different events. Despite this classic inspiration, it does feature modern tech too, with Recaro bucket seats and a custom steering wheel.

Describing the car to Evo, Amos made it clear that this is very much a passion project for him.

“This car means a lot to me. It represents my romantic vision in a world that is too aseptic, too fast, that runs like the wind, superficial and intangible. This car means that I had enough of the car world, both as a client before and as a manufacturer now.”

Amos hasn’t said how many of the cars will be produced, but I’d wager it’ll be just a select handful that end up being made. The car’s retail price has been set at $350,000, but if it manages to capture the spirit of the Delta Integrale, that’s a price worth paying.
