Warning: if You are a Ford Guy Please do not Read
Nothing disturbs a die-hard Ford enthusiast more than seeing a Chevrolet motor wrapped up in a Ford’s body. But you have to admit, when it comes to aftermarket engines, nobody has more options than Chevy does.
Besides, the whole point of the “restomod thing” is to make them better, so this next combo just makes sense. Otherwise, the car would need to be Fixed Or Repaired Daily…
Okay calm down, I had to get one Ford jab in there; I am a Chevy guy, after all. I’m done, scouts honor.
This absolutely gorgeous 33 Ford is a highly sought after car – for a few reasons. For example, there are a couple of ways to customize this car so that they don’t always look alike.

For instance, sometimes you see them with the fenders, sometimes you don’t. By simply removing one of the body parts, you can change the whole look of the car. Personally, I like the look with the fenders and running boards still attached; but to each their own.
Another reason for this model’s popularity may have something to do with a well-known television show called “Home Improvement.” The main character, played by Time Allen, built a similar (but not quite the same) ’33 Ford from the frame up while filming the show.
In fact, as a side note, many people don’t realize that this ’33 was his own personal car that he actually built while on the show. Pretty neat…
Of course, he didn’t go with a big block Chevy. He went with a small block Chevy, instead.
Anyway, it is no secret that the powerhouse inside this little lady brings a fresh perspective to this once old car. The ZZ454 crate motor is a torque monster. Teasing the driver’s right foot are 440 ponies matched up with 500 pounds of torque.

That’s enough power to jerk the head of any passenger – no matter how strong their neck muscles may be.
In order to get all of this power to the pavement, a strong Turbo 400 automatic transmission converts usable power to the Strange 9 inch rear end.
Every inch of this car seems to have been re-done to showroom standards. Even the undercarriage of this beauty is perfectly clean and is even paint matched to the rest of the car.

The interior is beautifully done with simple instrumentation that is easy to see. Power windows have been added, and the suicide doors make for easy ingress/egress.

As usual, I believe that shiny metal components should be reserved for the outside of the car, but to each their own. It wouldn’t stop me from making a few bids on this peach.

What do you think this fender-less Ford will bring at auction? You’ll have to wait for the Kissimmee Mecum auction to find out. However, cars of lesser quality have sold on eBay from between 35,000 to 45,000 smackeroos. Only time will tell what Mecum brings.
What do you think? Are you pro fenders on old Fords, or do you prefer the naked version? Do I dare ask what type of engine you’d stuff in there?
