his 1969 Camaro is a superb example of the company’s work. No crate engine here; S&S custom builds every engine to customer specification. This Camaro’s powerplant is based on a sturdy Dart aluminum block with splayed-bolt main bearing caps. They fitted a forged steel crank and H-beam connecting rods from Eagle, high-compression forged aluminum pistons and Dart Pro 1 ported and polished aluminum heads and topped it off with dual Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetors on an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. Hedman headers, S&S finned valve covers and MSD ignition complete the big-block V-8 for a rating of 650 HP.

It nestles into the custom-painted frame along with a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission tied to a Moser 12-bolt Positraction rear end. The front suspension features custom tubular A-arms, with adjustable shock absorbers all around and Caltrac bars at the rear. Baer 4-wheel disc brakes are activated through a Delco Moraine booster to 6-piston calipers. Custom Budnik wheels are fitted with Nitti Invo high-performance radials. Finished in showy red with silver striping and a black-accented Stinger hood, the car’s full-custom black leather interior features SS seat bolsters and belts, air conditioning, a Budnik steering wheel and digital sound system with CD player.
