The Chevrolet Nova has always proven a popular car, both new and over time. Always in the shadow of Chevelle and Camaro, Novas have recently been coming into their own. From Chevrolet the most powerful Nova was the L78 396/375 HP Nova SS, a very respectable performance car and a top-dollar commander due to the limited quantities built, many say less than 1,000 rolled off the assembly line.

This is a gorgeous 1970 Chevrolet Nova. The Jet Black paint leaves little to the imagination as to how straight a car it is, while new polished stainless-steel trim pops sharply against the dark color complemented by 17-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels. The black interior presents exquisitely with Classic Auto Air, beautifully upholstered vinyl bucket seats, an extremely clean dashboard, a tachometer and a small console housing SS gauges and the shifter controlling the Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission.

Release the heavy-duty clutch and the aluminum-head 502 CI big block engine begins sending 502 HP through the driveline to the rear wheels, easily moving the lightweight Nova down the road. Fed by a 4-barrel carburetor and ignited by an MSD ignition system, the engine breathes through long tube headers and a 2 ½-inch aluminized exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. Stabilized by a heavy-duty suspension with QA1 coilovers, rear traction bars, power front disc brakes and power steering, it provides ample control for the driver and easily proves how new designs and technology can trump original ideas.
