People familiar with the Pro Touring hobby may recognize this classic 1969 Camaro, as it has been featured nationally in Super Rod magazine and was a GoodGuys ‘Street Machine of the Year’ finalist in 2005. Such accolades were justified, as the car’s beautiful execution and attention to detail are show-stoppers.

The body features the RS-style covered-headlamp grille plus smoothed bumpers, firewall, cowl hood, and floor; shaved door handles, custom sheet metal work under the hood, and smooth-ground engine surfaces complete the effect. The engine is a custom-built 454-based Chevy big-block V-8 fitted with Canfield aluminum heads, a steel crank, 11.0:1 pistons, Comp Cams rollerized valvetrain, Holley 4150 carb, serpentine drive belt system, MSD ignition and more.

Behind this engine (estimated at 650 HP) is a T56 6-speed overdrive transmission and 9-inch Ford rear with a Currie 3.90:1 center section. The car rides on a Fatman Fabrication subframe with 2-inch lowered drop spindles, tubular upper and lower control arms, and Flaming River manual rack-and-pinion. Big disc brakes plus five-spoke wheels by Intro Billet shod in Michelin rubber are on all four corners.

Inside is luxury, with Paul Atkins-designed leather seating executed in Red, a custom dash with Auto Meter gauging, Billet Specialties steering wheel, custom tilt column, Lokar components, and Vintage Air conditioning. Sound beyond the engine rumbling through Sanderson headers and FlowMaster 2.5 jet-coated exhaust comes from a Sony CD player with JL Audio speakers and Kicker amp. Finally, the beautiful exterior is defined with a custom-blended base-coat/clear-coat hue. With eye appeal and power to boot, this Camaro is a standout with professional execution, a Pro Touring stance and viable show-car heritage.
