A Corvette Fit For A Sith Lord

Picture the scene: it’s the 4th of July and Darth Vader wants to celebrate. He needs something thoroughly American, but also with a touch of the dark side about it. This is the car he’d choose. A pitch black 1954 Corvette restomod known as “Death Star,” by the good people at Timeless Kustoms. That name sound familiar? We talked about Timeless Kustoms just the other day, they’re the crew behind the stunning and absurdly powerful ‘Vicious’ Mustang. Turning their hands to this classic Chevy, they’ve created a gorgeous and intimidating machine.

The car isn’t just good-looking. As you’d expect from a restomod, there’s been a slight increase in power. Under the hood, there’s a 638 horsepower, 6.2 liter supercharged LS9, as you’d find in a C6 ZR1 Corvette. This is also a company that clearly understands the appeal of gazing lovingly at machinery, as they’ve fitted a window to the hood, letting you see the engine in all its glory. Weighing just 1.05 tons, the car rides on an Art Morrison spaceframe chassis. The wheels have also been upgraded, with disc brakes fitted.

The cockpit is a beautiful mix of racer and rally car. Petrol blue leather seats provide a stylish look, mixing well with the dark dash that’s broken only by a set of Autometer Cobalt gauges.  There’s not anything particularly flashy about the interior, and that’s great. Sometimes simplicity is the only way. It certainly hasn’t harmed this gorgeous restomod.
