Long Forgotten Corvette Collection Rediscovered

At the time Peter Max was a hugely successful artist but incredibly busy with many projects, not the least of which was an ongoing legal case with the IRS.

“For a while, maybe a year or two, I didn’t know what to do with them,” Mr. Max said. “I started feeling guiltier and guiltier. What do you do with 36 cars?”

So the cars sat. Moved from one garage to the next, only to sit some more. Sadly, Max would never realize his vision of cheerleaders and Corvettes. The cars ended up in the garage of a Brooklyn apartment building:
