This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Resto Mod is a rolling showcase of the excellent craftsmanship performed every day at Patrick’s Classy Cars in Phoenix, Arizona. This nut-and-bolt build began with a rust-free California Black Plate three-owner car that had been with its previous owner in Sacramento since 1975. Once dismantled, its original sheet metal was prepared to perfection and finished in the classic combination of two-tone Silver Metallic over Black paint.

Meanwhile, work began preparing a quality Art Morrison chassis, which features specially designed front and rear suspension that provides an excellent combination of ride comfort, cornering agility and high-speed stability. Tubular steel control arms, Strange Engineering adjustable coilover shocks and power rack and pinion steering are employed up front, while the rear is composed of a Strange Engineering rear end located by four heavy-duty adjustable links and coilovers.

Front and rear sway bars help regulate body control, and Wilwood disc brakes are used at all four corners behind custom large diameter Intro five-spoke wheels. Nothing rejuvenates a Tri-Five Chevy like modern muscle, which is here in the form of a new all-aluminum GM LS3 V-8 fitted with Jet Hot coated dual exhaust and cranking 430 HP through a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission.

The color scheme is matched in the pristine and quite original-looking interior, which features correct fabrics, vinyl and finishes, tinted glass, power windows and seat, a tilt steering column and Vintage Air. The result of this expert work: a Gold class award at Pismo Beach in 2014, and an outstanding new Tri-Five Chevy Resto Mod for its new owner.
