1957 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery

The builder of this Resto Modded 1957 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery added a stylish exclamation point to the finished product, removing the original hooded headlight enclosures and grafting on a more streamlined pair of units from a modern-day Mini Cooper. It is a startling effect, but it invites a closer look that is rewarded in this case with clean design and quality craftsmanship.

A frame-off build completed in 2014, the car shows off gleaming Navy Blue Metallic paint over excellent sheet metal. Shaved emblems and door handles add to the wagon’s clean look, which is accented with Bel Air-body side trim and the substitution of the vent windows with full side glass.

Custom hand-stitched two-tone leather and vinyl upholstery are used inside on the custom front and rear seats, door panels and custom center console. A custom wood cargo floor was installed along with Dakota Digital gauges, power windows, Vintage Air climate control and a remote entry system.

Nothing gets a Chevy out of the chute with as much authority as this car’s 454 big-block V-8, which has been polished and plated to show quality and teamed with a 400 Turbo automatic transmission and 4.11:1-geared Ford 9-inch rear end. The detailed undercarriage was upgraded with a Fat Man front subframe using tubular upper and lower control arms and power rack and pinion steering. Four-wheel power disc brakes ensure trouble-free stops, and wide radials on American Racing wheels complete the rolling stock.
