Update 08/08/25:
In the winter of 2021, we purchased a 1975 Dodge Ramcharger for dirt cheap. Lifted on big tires and a flat grey paintjob, this Ramcharger had certainly lived many lifetimes. In the same way you can tell a lot about a tree’s age and life by the rings of its trunk, you can peel away this Ramcharger’s many paint jobs and get a good idea of what this truck had been through. It was first US Forest Service Green, which is a hint that this Ramcharger likely took some abuse and worked hard labor out in America’s forests. Likely after its retirement from the government it received a coat of white, which actually still remains on the camper shell. Finally it was painted a flat grey some time before we acquired it. The goal for this truck was always to build it into a YouTube giveaway restomod truck. One lucky YouTube subscriber would be selected at random to win this Ramcharger. As of this writing the official end date hasn’t happened yet; that’s in September. We’re gonna go through everything we’ve done with this truck since acquiring it:
The first thing we did after buying the Ramcharger was testing it out to see what kind of four wheeling it could do in its current, un-restored state. Check out the video above to see us do a ridiculous offroad test and give our verdict.

The first order of business was tearing the Ramcharger down to the bones and assessing what kind of body work it needed. Well, it needed it just about everywhere.

We got to body working what we could before sending it off to paint. We smoothed the firewall, properly welded in patch panels to the floorpan, and more.
We also decided to trash the old fenders and buy repro ones. The old fenders just had way too much rust damage.
We also cleaned the chassis and had it powder coated. It looks brand new!
Reegan and the team welded in patch panels to the floor, and finished bodywork so that they could hand off the project to SV Body and Paint to do some more bodywork and then paint the truck. We had them paint it in a nice “R/M Black” we dubbed it, with a protective bedliner-ed stripe that runs along the bottom of the fenders, rockers and quarter panels.
Meanwhile, we had the engine completely rebuilt by Cogswell Marine. They gave it new lifters, new camshaft, an all new rotating assembly, aluminum heads, aluminum intake, and a nice cleanup and repaint of the block itself.
Once the truck came back from paint, we dropped the engine in and got to work on literally everything.
Reegan mounted and wired up FiTech’s GoEFI 4 600HP kit. The fuel system was also plumbed.
Reegan also attached new headers to the engine, then reinstalled the refurbished core support.
Aftermarket fuel tanks are non-existent for these Ramchargers, so Reegan had to clean and refurbish the old one, which he also installed a FiTech in tank fuel pump. The fuel level sender was installed, and a fuel filler neck was installed on the truck.
Reegan also installed the new front and rear lift leaf springs (6″ in front with a 1.5″ block in the rear to level the truck), and installed the axles. The original axles are gone, and these are actually Chevy 1 ton axles with an 8 lug pattern. The rear spring mounts were reinforced, new spring perches were welded, new shock mounts were installed, and new shocks were painted and installed.

The painted metal dash was reinstalled, and about 90% of the Vintage Air A/C system was installed. The A/C control panel and dash controls for the A/C were mounted.
Reegan and crew also installed all new glass all the way around, including a new windshield. The window regulators were restored as well.
Reegan and Miguel also installed the new chrome bumpers, and the painted tailgate. They also installed new LED taillight panels with fresh lenses.
The upper and lower grilles were installed, and KC LED headlights were also installed with refinished bezels.
The deadline to get this car done is getting tighter than a SEMA build! Stay tuned for more updates!
