A Restomod For The Whole Family: 1950 Chevrolet Stretch Cab

Have you ever wanted a restomod pickup that you can use to both lug your things and carry your family in comfort? This 1950 Chevrolet Thriftmaster stretch cab pickup may be just the ticket. Sold by Texas firm MyRod, this Chevy looks like it just rolled out of the factory gates. Coated in a beautiful two-tone brown and cream paintjob, the first thing that draws your eye, other than the huge grille, is the stretched cab, this truck’s raison d’etre. On the back half of the cab, you’ll see two extra tinted side windows shadowing the new benchseat, accessible from the truck’s front doors. The interior has been kept vintage, with a set of custom analogue gauges riding on the dash.

The new mechanicals share the same level of detailing, with the small-block Chevrolet 350 having been plated to an incredible shine. The engine is mated to a 700 R4 Overdrive transmission, and the front clip is from a second-gen Camaro. You’ll also find all the regular hints of modernity you’d expect on a restomod, including Vintage Air A/C, power steering, tilt steering column, disk brakes, and remote unlocking.

The truck drives handily and seems like an ideal cruiser, but doesn’t seem to have been used all that much by its current owner. Only 173 miles have been laid down in this Chevrolet since the new engine was installed. A great-looking truck and a really cool concept, this should absolutely brighten your day.
