The 1967 Mustang GT Fastback Sweepstakes Car Details

October 7, 2019

It’s Sweepstakes #8 and our giveaway cars just keep getting more and more badass. The 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback is arguably the most legendary car to ever grace the muscle car scene in the late 60’s. This is an S-code car, which translates to, “You bet your ass it’s a real GT!” This particular GT boasts a lot more than just some digits on the VIN plate, though. We’re taking you on an in depth look at not just what’s already on the car, but also our plans for building this car into the perfect beast.

The ENGINE:

This Mustang has a performance tuned Ford 390 big block, and boy is it fun to hear it roar when you smash the gas pedal. It also has a 4 barrel carb and a CobraJet air filter. More to come on the exact horsepower it’s putting to the rear wheels.

The TRANSMISSION:

You’ll love bangin’ through the gears with the factory 4 speed manual with Hurst shifter.

The SUSPENSION:

The Mustang has restored GT suspension on all 4 corners. She sits aggressively on a nice, lowered stance and you can feel the improved handling in every turn. The Ford 9 inch rear end ensures that this rocket can handle any amount of power.

The BRAKES:

Currently the car has been upgraded with disc brakes in the front while retaining OEM drums in the back. But nobody has time for that! We want discs all around, baby! Baer Brakes are some of the best in the biz, and they have the perfect 4 wheel disc brake kit for this Mustang, which we will be featuring soon! Disc brakes all around, paired with the KYB suspension will really make the car handle like a modern muscle machine.

The WHEELS ‘N’ TIRES:

“Mag Grey” American Racing Torque Thrust 2 wheels are wrapped in Federal Street 959 Tires; 225/45-17s on the front and 275/40-17s on the rear. The “Mag Grey” wheels complete the badass look of this gunmetal grey beast and the staggered wheels put more rubber on the ground where it counts.

The BODY:

We love everything Shelby and everything Cobra, so naturally a GT500 fiberglass body kit was installed, and it really makes the car stand out with its matte gunmetal grey paint job and black matte racing stripes. People think it’s an Eleanor, and we definitely see some similarities. A few folks even said it looks like John Wick’s Mustang (that one is a ’69), so we dig that it reminds people of their favorite pop culture Mustangs.

The INTERIOR:

Get into the driver’s seat and you’ll step into the ’60s with restored classic black leather seats, black headliner and black carpet; The billet dash holds JME Autometer gauges, and hold on tight to the wooden Cobra Racing steering wheel. BUT WE WANT MORE! A TMI console and full trunk kit are on the books and will complete the near perfect interior. Thanks to our friends at Vintage Air, the car has a brand new air conditioning kit; there’s nobody we trust more than them when it comes to keeping you ice cold on a hot summer day. Here’s a video of us installing it:

UPDATE November 5th, 2019:
We’ve made a bunch of updates to the car and have a bunch more planned. It’s a lot to type so we went ahead and made a full walkthrough video showing off the car, the upgrades and updates made so far, and everything we have planned:

ENJOY the gallery below of this ’67 Mustang. After you’ve checked it out, enter to win it HERE.
