The 347 Stroker 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback

August 6, 2025

UPDATE: 8/6/25

We bought this extremely well built 1969 Ford Mustang fastback from a private seller in Arizona. As of the time of this writing, it’s been 6 years since we’ve given away a classic Ford Mustang. In fact out of the 30 cars we’ve given away so far, this will only be the third Mustang. RM3 was a 1966 fastback, and RM8 was a 1967 fastback. If you know your Mustang history, the third styling update came in 1969 and it was the most aggressive version yet. The pony car was starting to grow some big muscles. But let’s go over what makes this particular Mustang a perfect choice for a RestoMods giveaway.

This Mustang was restored and modified by a private owner based out of Arizona. Painted in “Guard Green,” a late model Ford F150 color, which appears green in some lighting and gunmetal in others.

Let’s get into what makes this 1969 Ford Mustang haul ass. Blueprint Engines makes a fantastic 347 stroker crate engine rated for 415 crank horsepower. These small blocks are torquey, peppy engines and are a great choice for classic Mustangs. They make factory big block power for less the weight, so it’s a great power to weight ratio. This 347 stroker is also equipped with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, so every startup is smooth and effortless. You can actually order this engine from Blueprint complete with the EFI system and even full accessory drives and transmissions. Or you can just purchase their long block if you want more control of how to dress it up.

All that power is yours to command with a Tremec TKX 5 speed manual transmission. It’s a smooth, dependable drivetrain that’s an absolute blast to drive with and shift gears on.

The suspension in this 1969 has been completely upgraded to be able to corner much better than an original Mustang ever could. That’s thanks to a whole slew of Total Control Products upgrades, like a front coilover conversion kit, coilover upper control arms with dropped pivot shafts, lower control arms, tie rod adapter set, eccentric eliminator, adjustable strut rods, 1″ diameter front anti-roll bar, a long list of bracing components, a rack and pinion, and some parts from other esteemed brands like a Strange 9″ rear end center section, Varishock QuickSet 2 Coilovers, Chris Alston Chassisworks Bar splined-end anti-roll bar, Chassisworks FAB9 Axle & third member, and the always essential Wilwood Disc Brakes for stopping power. It even has Wilwood’s parking brake cable kit. The entire driving experience is enhanced by its aggressive sound: a pair of headers and Borla Pro XS mufflers make you hear every cubic inch of the Blueprint 347.

This Mustang’s interior is particularly delightful. TMI seats bolster the driver in place, and the wood grain Veloce steering wheel is a very comfortable grip. Like we mentioned before, the transmission shifts feel excellent, and that’s also thanks in part to a Qwik Stik Shifter kit. A TMI headliner adds a nice touch, and a TMI center console gives the driver and front passenger two cupholders. The Mustang also has an Auto Custom Carpets Inc. carpet kit. While the Classic Auto Air A/C keeps you cool in the heat, the JVC stereo can blast your favorite tunes. The dash features Dakota Digital HDX analog/digital instruments and gauges, and the car curiously has a back up camera display in the rear view mirror. These creature comforts make you forget (though just for a second or two) you’re driving a 56 year old Mustang.

When we acquired this Mustang, it had black American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, and though the Torq Thrust is a timeless design, we didn’t feel like the blacked out look was the vibe for this car. We updated it with brand new American Racing 427 Shelby Cobra Wheels.

All of the Mustang’s restomod upgrades is guaranteed to give big smiles to anyone who drives it, and as you can see above, it can do burnouts.
