If you’re a fan of Steve McQueen and the legendary car chase in Bullitt, you’ll instantly recognize the presence of this Triple Black beauty. This vehicle was originally restored in Southern California by Just Driven for a movie studio, intended for a recreation of that famous film chase.

Fate intervened, and this classic Charger found its way to the RestoMods garage, where we took it to the next level. We guarantee that getting behind the wheel of this Big Block beast will make you feel like you’re creating your own cinematic legend. This build blends classic muscle aesthetics with modern, top-tier engineering, making it truly better than new.

Big Block Power and Six-Speed Control

The heart of this Charger is pure American muscle, now beating with modern reliability. It boasts a massive 440 cubic inch Big Block Magnum V8. This powerhouse is paired to a modern Silver Sport Transmissions Tremec Magnum 6-speed manual transmission, giving you six gears to row through and total control over the raw output.

Fuel delivery is flawless thanks to FiTech’s Classic Black 600hp EFI system, working alongside an Edelbrock intake manifold. Supporting mods include stainless tubular headers, a Flowmaster Exhaust, and a CVF serpentine accessory drive. Dual Electric Fans ensure modern cooling, completing an engine setup that delivers reliable, tire-shredding performance.

Modern Stance and Stopping Power

To handle all that V8 muscle, the entire undercarriage has been reimagined for contemporary driving standards. The classic Charger’s original handling characteristics are long gone, replaced by precise cornering ability thanks to a fully upgraded QA1 Coilover suspension kit at all four corners.

This high-performance suspension allows for fine-tuning the ride height and damping. Crucially, speed means nothing without stopping power. That’s why this build features a complete Wilwood power disc brake system and master cylinder, providing the kind of modern, confidence-inspiring deceleration necessary for a car of this caliber. Power steering completes the package, making this beast a pleasure to handle.

Factory Look with Modern Comfort

Rounding out the build is a cockpit that perfectly blends factory nostalgia with modern creature comforts, complemented by an aggressive exterior stance. The interior features a meticulously restored factory vinyl aesthetic, preserving the classic Mopar feel.

However, modern necessities are expertly integrated, including a Vintage Air HVAC unit for reliable comfort year-round. Outside, the stunning Triple Black paint is complemented by aggressive American Racing “Groove” wheels (18″x8″ front, 18″x10″ rear) wrapped in high-performance Falken tires. Final details, like the custom EvansCNC “R/M” badging, cement this 1968 Charger as an unforgettable, fully modernized muscle machine.
