A Tall Order Arrives for RM24

Never before in RestoMods sweepstakes history have we given away a lifted 4×4 classic truck, and because we’re always pushing the boundaries of what we build and give away here at RestoMods, we are bringing you this tough as nails restomod: a 1972 Chevy K10 4×4 Shortbed pickup. Shortbed C10s are rarer than longbeds. Back in the day, laborers and farmers alike would often choose the longbed configuration of the Chevy truck because more bed space was more practical. This was especially true for the 4×4 K10, because if you were working out in the rough and needed to haul in larger loads, the longbed was something you couldn’t live without. So in a way, this K10 is a true survivor because not many 4×4 shortbed trucks were sold and for those that were lived hard lives; many seeing their demise in fields and junkyards.

This ’72 K10 that we are offering up for RM24 has, you guessed it, an LS swap, but it keeps the spirit of its blue collar roots alive with a 6.0 liter iron block LS V8 (also called the Vortec) that has been used in millions of Chevy trucks for most of the 2000s. It’s a comfortable ride thanks to a 3 speed automatic transmission, NP208 transfer case, a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires. It’s got A/C too. The special thing about this truck is that it’s tough enough to be driven year round. We’ve had sweepstakes winners who garage their cars in harsh winters which is perfectly respectable. The K10 however will conquer any terrain you lay in front of it. But it doesn’t have to be driven hard or bring in a day’s work. Nobody will give you hell for just using it as a weekend cruiser.
