The ’67 and ’68 Camaro was Chevrolet’s definitive answer to the burgeoning pony car market, quickly establishing itself as a legend. The Camaro namesake still lives on today, proving that sporty V8 muscle cars are what enthusiasts crave. This particular 1968 model preserves that iconic DNA while embracing the best of modern performance and reliability. Every component on this build, code-named as ‘RM27’, has been upgraded and modified to create a street weapon capable of taking on the best modern sports cars.

Modern Supercharged Heart

At the core of RM27 is pure, unadulterated modern Chevy power: the LT4 6.2L Supercharged V8 crate engine. This powerhouse delivers a staggering 650 horsepower in a reliable, street-ready package. To harness that output, the Camaro utilizes a T56 6-Speed Tremec Magnum Manual Transmission, providing a direct, engaging driving experience.

The system is supported by a Centerforce dual clutch, and the roar of the LT4 is channeled through a Dual Flowmaster Exhaust. Fuel delivery is handled by a Rick’s Tanks fuel tank with a reliable GM fuel pump system, ensuring this beast never starves for power.

Full Track-Ready Chassis

To manage 650 horsepower, the Camaro’s entire chassis had to be completely overhauled. Up front, the Art Morrison subframe and subframe connectors provide a rigid foundation, mounting Corvette C7 cast aluminum front suspension arms and Strange Engineering front coilovers.

The rear features a sophisticated Ridetech 4-bar triangular suspension setup with adjustable coilovers. Power is delivered to a robust 12-bolt Currie rear end with 3.73 gears via an aluminum driveshaft, ensuring maximum grip and performance whether on the street or the track.

Superior Stopping and Stance

With modern supercar power comes the need for supercar braking. This Camaro is equipped with a serious Wilwood power disc brake system, featuring 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. Braking performance is optimized with a CPP brake booster and master cylinder.

The exterior features deep black paint with classic painted white stripes and a redesigned cowl induction hood functioning as a heat extractor. It sits aggressively on Boze forged 3-piece “Mesh” wheels (18×8 front, 19×11 rear), wrapped in high-performance Continental Extreme Contact Sport+ Tires, giving it the perfect muscle stance.

Iconic Interior with Modern Touch

The interior pays homage to the Camaro’s heritage while dialing up comfort and performance. The seating utilizes beautiful TMI upholstery, combining a classic Houndstooth pattern with premium black leather and sueded accents on both the front and custom rear seats.

The driver is connected to the transmission via a classic Hurst Shifter. All critical information is displayed through clean, modern Dakota Digital Gauges. A custom center console completes the cockpit, blending the muscle car era’s style with modern comfort and refinement.
