When it comes to iconic muscle cars, the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle is always a standout. But this isn’t just any Chevelle— this is RM29. Complete with its Nelson Racing Engines twin-turbo 427ci V8 and paired with a 4L80E transmission, there was no expense spared on this drivable piece of art. This Twin Turbo ’69 Chevelle boasts an impressive range of upgrades that we are going to dive into today. Don’t forget to claim your entries for the chance to take home this Twin Turbo 1300HP Chevelle at RestoMods.com.

Under the Hood

At the heart of this Chevelle is a Nelson Racing Engines twin-turbocharged 427ci LSX V8 built for serious performance. With twin 88mm mirror-image turbochargers, twin intercoolers, and an NRE Alien intake manifold, it produces 1300+ horsepower on pump gas and up to 1600 horsepower on race fuel. A 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth, reliable shifts, while a Strange 9-inch rear end with Positraction delivers durability and traction.

Supporting these components is a heat-wrapped 3.5-inch dual exhaust system, enhancing performance and delivering a distinctive idle. Adjustable front coilovers and tubular control arms improve handling and precision, while a triangulated four-bar rear suspension provides stability and balance under such high levels of power.

A Frame Built to Dominate

This Chevelle rides on an Art Morrison GT Sport chassis tailored specifically for the 1969 hardtop. With features like a VETC6 front wheel bearing and hub assembly, Sport IFS upper and lower control arms, and a Johnny joint housing with a back brace, the frame offers unparalleled strength and precision. Whether you’re hugging corners or flying down the drag strip, this chassis is up to the task.

Exterior: A Head-Turner in Every Way

The deep nautical blue paint is just the beginning of this Chevelle’s exterior. Its standout features include 19-inch American Racing VF552 wheels, staggered with 19×10 up front and 19×12 in the rear, wrapped in Toyo R888R tires to ensure maximum grip. A cowl induction hood and molded front spoiler seamlessly blend function with style, while Dapper Lighting LEDs with halos add a modern touch and improve visibility. Mini tubs have been incorporated to accommodate wider tires, enhancing traction. Additionally, the battery has been relocated, and the car is equipped with a Rick’s Tank gas system featuring a split fuel tank for both race and premium fuel. This setup is supported by four Walbro 450 lph pumps to deliver peak efficiency.

Interior: Modern Comfort Meets Classic Charm

Inside, this restored Chevelle perfectly balances luxury and nostalgia. Black leather seats with blue stitching provide comfort and style, while the center leather console with cupholders adds some modernity. Other conveniences like power windows, seats, and locks make every drive enjoyable, and Vintage Air climate control keeps the cabin comfortable year-round.

The dashboard of this Chevelle is equipped with Autometer Pro-Comp gauges, including a GPS speedometer, ensuring precise and accurate readings. For entertainment, a Pioneer infotainment system is paired with a Rockford Fosgate amplifier and subwoofer, delivering exceptional sound quality. Additional highlights include a B&M shifter with a line lock button, custom door panels and door pulls designed with attention to every detail, with a fully upholstered trunk.

Braking and Handling

Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes provide top-notch stopping power, while power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering ensures precise handling. The adjustable coilovers and triangulated rear suspension work together for a smooth, controlled ride, whether you’re cruising or pushing the limits. The RM29 1969 Twin-Turbo Chevelle RestoMod isn’t just a car; it’s a masterpiece.  Whether you’re hitting the road or stealing the spotlight at a car show, this Chevelle guarantees to make an impression.
