The 1970 Dodge Charger is one of the most iconic silhouettes in American muscle car history and RM30 takes that legacy to the next level. Brought to life through a full ground-up restoration by Chris Esparza and the RestoMods team, this build blends classic lines with modern performance and craftsmanship. Here’s what went into RestoMods’ 30th giveaway build. Enter to win this 1970 Charger with $50,000 only at: RestoMods.com.

Engine:
Under the hood, RM30 features a 426 Gen-3 HEMI from Blueprint Engines and dyno tested at 650 horsepower. Fuel delivery is managed by a Holley Terminator X-Max EFI system, while exhaust gases flow through Hooker stainless steel shorty headers into a Magnaflow Street Series 2.5” stainless steel exhaust system with an X-pipe. Looks good and sounds even better! An aluminum radiator paired with dual Proform brushless electric fans ensures consistent cooling, even under demanding conditions and a CVF front accessory drive system providing reliable belt operations for all engine-mounted components.
Power is transferred through a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission, paired with a McLeod clutch and hydraulic throwout bearing. A Silver Sport Transmission clutch pedal conversion and master cylinder improve pedal feel and response, making the car easy to drive even with modern power levels. This drivetrain setup provides a strong balance of performance and drivability, ideal for both street and highway use.
Handling & Suspension:
This Charger doesn’t just go fast – it handles. RM30 is equipped with a QA1 front cradle featuring coilovers and rack and pinion steering, along with a QA1 rear 4-link and coilovers, providing modern handling characteristics. The chassis is reinforced with subframe connectors, torque boxes, and additional bracing from US Car Tool to increase rigidity and improve overall performance.
Braking is handled by Wilwood 14” 6-piston front disc brakes and 4-piston rear calipers, paired with a Wilwood master cylinder and a custom-machined billet lid from Evans CNC. The car rides on American Racing Groove wheels wrapped in Falken RT660 tires – sized 245/40/18 up front and 295/40/18 in the rear for added grip and control.
Paint & Body:
This 1970 Charger is finished in Viper Red paint complete by SV Body & Paint. All exterior chrome, trim, and glass have been replaced with new components for a refreshed appearance. No stone left unturned on this Mopar! Ringbrothers Air Frame hood hinges add modern billet hardware, while Holley LED headlights and Digitails LED tail lights update the lighting system with improved visibility and reliability, all while maintaining the car’s classic look.
Restored Interior:
Inside, RM30 features Dakota Digital gauges, a custom woodgrain Hurst pistol grip shifter, and a Flaming River tilt steering column with a Billet Specialties split-grip leather steering wheel. Climate control is handled by a Vintage Air A/C system, and audio comes from a Bluetooth-enabled Retrosound stereo that combines modern functionality with a classic appearance.
Originally equipped with a bench seat, the interior has been upgraded with Sparco GT bucket seats upholstered in suede and leather, paired with a matching custom rear seat. New carpet and door panels complete the cabin, offering a clean, OEM+ finish that balances comfort with performance.
