Before the Nissan 370Z was even a twinkle in the designer’s eye, there was the Datsun 240Z. A truly unique design in the early 70s, the 240Z also featured a ton of tech, including an overhead cam and independent suspension. It was an excellent Japanese race car, featuring Datsun’s trademark reliability as well as handling like a dream. It may not have had the biggest engine, with just a 146 ci straight-six under the hood, but it was decently fast, hitting 0-60 in just over eight and a half seconds.

It was wildly popular in the US, with them not exactly being thin on the ground, even today, but their value is strangely low for such an excellent car. That being said, their value is increasing these days, hinting at a resurgence in popularity. If you want one, now may be the time to get one, particularly if you enjoy being an automotive hipster.
