The Ultimate Camaro Restomod: 1969 Inferno Camaro

The Chevrolet Camaro is one of the most widely-respected muscle cars of all time, and with good reason. Boasting large engines, high speeds, and amazing looks, its name is now synonymous with brawn. What if it was given some more?

The Inferno Camaro, by Roadster Shop of Mundelein, IL, has taken the body of a 1969 model and modernized it beautifully. The original engine has been replaced with a 378 cubic inch V8 by Texas Speed & Performance, which outputs a whopping 680 horsepower. This engine has been hooked up to a Tremec T56 Transmission, and the driver is given control of a serpentine-belt power steering system. The Inferno sits on double-adjustable coils by Fast Track, accompanied by a Woodward Racing rack-and-pinion setup. The powertrain is rounded off with a three-inch exhaust system and Borla mufflers.

The car looks the part too, with a lot of work having gone in to both the interior and exterior of this Camaro. Inside, you’ll find leather and suede panels which give the car a real touch of class. When weight truly matters though, these can be removed in moments, with the panels held to the body with magnets. The new windshield is flush mounted, and the taillights were made to measure, with acrylic panels backing on to a 3-D printed housing.

This is restomodding taken to an extreme, but it’s all been done exquisitely. It’s no surprise to find out that the Inferno Camaro won a gold award from Goodguys. Check out the video for a blow-by-blow account of the build process.
