A '67 Camaro To Tantalize Your Senses
Well, this is fortuitous. Not even a week ago do I write about the ease with which you can restomod a Camaro than one appears in my news feed. This ’67 Chevy, created by G3 Rods of Rapid City, South Dakota, is a real treat.
Let’s begin with what’s under the hood, destined to massage your ears with the throaty roar of a V8. The venerable and versatile LS engine, loved by restomodders the world over, has not been installed. Instead, there’s a 406 ci small-block Chevy engine, designed by the late Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, that puts out a beastly 550 horsepower. The front clip has also been replaced, with upgrades including Detroit Speed & Engineering suspension. The same is true at the rear of the car, where a four-link setup has been installed. This is only the beginning of the magic that’s been worked on this Camaro.
On the exterior, some noticeable changes have been made. For a start, there’s a custom grille, combined with billet head and taillights. The bumpers have been narrowed and tucked for a cleaner appearance, the filler door is fitted flush to the Camaro’s body, and there’s a hand-formed lower valance.
Inside, just as many changes have been made. New aluminum panels have been hand made, and the cabin is bedecked in leather, complete with suede inserts. Add to this Dakota Digital gauges and a new center console, and you have a thoroughly modern restomod.
