This Incredible 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Features Fins Like A Great White's

Streetside Classics

I feel like we don’t talk about Cadillacs that much on this blog. Vintage Caddies are some of the best cars you can buy, but they don’t get as much buzz around them as Fords and Chevys. This Eldorado Seville shows that this needn’t be the case. Featuring fins that look sharp enough to cut diamond, cars don’t come a whole lot more vintage, or a whole lot prettier than this. Currently listed for just over $100,000 on Streetside Classics, I can’t say it wouldn’t be worth it.

The car’s clock displays just 300 miles since its rebuild, which gave it, among other upgrades, a 5.3 liter LS Vortec engine. The engine is augmented with a hi-flow air cleaner, and an aluminum radiator. The exhaust system features straight pipes that roll out into a glasspack-style dual exhaust. Engine presentation is as tidy as you’d expect, and it’s been color matched to the Caddy’s exterior. The car rides on Fatman suspension up front, with ladder bars at the rear, and adjustable coilovers. Handling has been improved with rack and pinion steering, and cruising in this Cadillac is as easy as pie, thanks to a 4L60E automatic transmission.

On the exterior, the trim has been shaved down (notice the doorhandles, or rather, the lack thereof). The original wheels have been upgraded with BOSS alloys, and while the Cadillac’s exterior looks noticeably different, it’s been treated with respect. The chrome trim is still all there, just as you’d hope.

The interior is full-on gorgeous, and has changed quite a bit more than the exterior. The front and rear bucket seats feature tan buckskin leather, alongside Ostrich leather inserts. You can expect electric everything, with power windows and locks, alongside new A/C, and a Kenwood head unit, complete with satellite radio and Bluetooth, sitting in the Cadillac’s dash. There’s also GPS and a rear-view camera. The steering wheel is a custom chrome piece, while next to it you can find a Lokar shifter and Dakota Digital Gauges. Expensive? Assuredly. Gorgeous, and with more character than modern Caddies? Most definitely.
