Make Time For This Beautiful 1969 Chevy Impala Restomod

Chevrolet Impalas are probably most famous for being chopped down into lowriders, and their huge role in hip-hop culture. That, however, is not all they can do. This video by Combustion Chamber features an incredible 1969 Impala restomod, created by Jay Ruiz. The car’s been fitted with a 383 stroker, outputs around 400 horsepower, and also features Turbo 400 transmission with a 3.08 gear ratio. The work doesn’t end under the hood either, with new gauges, LED lights, iPad center console, and an aftermarket stereo being featured in the new setup.
Jay’s quick to say that his Impala is not a lowrider, defining a lowrider as featuring white walls and spoked rims, as well as hydraulic suspension, while his Impala restomod features air ride suspension. Jay, a former NYPD officer, also discusses the creation of a car show following the 9/11 attacks by the police department, with the funds raised going to the Widows and Orphans’ Fund. The car looks to be an absolutely superb cruiser, focused on comfort, style, and simplicity, rather than speed or attempting to jump on the lowrider bandwagon. It’s a car that stands alone, and that’s perfectly fine with us.
